BOOK A COMPUTER
Located in 2-20X, the DSC has seven high performance computers and a wide range of specialized software available for U of A researchers, students, and staff.
All computer time must be booked. Requests can be made in-person at our DSC Service Desk in 2-20 Cameron Library or by email at dsc.library@ualberta.ca.
- Not all software may be available remotely. Please check with staff at the time of booking.
Important to Note:
- Computers can be accessed in-person during operational hours or through remote access (available during operational and non-operational hours).
- For remote access, please allow up to two business days for custom login credentials to be generated.
- These credentials will be emailed to the user upon confirmation of a remote booking.
During the week of December 8th to 15th, 2025 requests for new remote user credentials will be unavailable. New requests will be processed after Tuesday, December 16th.

DSC COMPUTER LAB MAP
CONNECT REMOTELY
To connect remotely to a DSC computer, you will need to install both Cisco AnyConnect VPN client and Microsoft Remote Desktop client on your remote computer.
ADDITIONAL U OF A COMPUTER LABS
The U of A provides computer access across all campuses with access to a variety of software.
U of A students, staff, and faculty can log in with their CCIDs. Visitors to the U of A can obtain access to non-DSC workstations on-campus (and most Library resources) with a Library Network Access ID.
