Our certification process has changed, effective November 17, 2025. Our check-in process has moved from individual appointment bookings to a drop-in format as outlined below.

COMPLETE ALL REQUIREMENTS
All media production + makerspace tools require the completion of a two-step certification process before use. Please complete all steps prior to booking your studio or tool.
Step 1: Complete the Online Module
Each makerspace tool and studio certification module is available in Canvas:
- Click on the certification link to self-enroll in our Canvas certification class.
- Navigate to and complete your chosen module.
- Users must achieve a grade of 100% on the final quiz to complete the module; multiple attempts are allowed.
Step 2: Complete a Check-In Session
Upon successful completion of the certification module, users must complete a check-in session at the DSC with our staff.
This check-in allows the user to demonstrate their knowledge of the equipment and provide an opportunity to ask staff any operational questions about the tool.
Please visit the DSC during the drop-in times indicated below to complete your certification check-in.
