OUR SPACES
The DSC is an academic centre designed to facilitate scholarly activities, including research and teaching.
We offer collaboration, classroom and studio space to support meetings, events, research, and creativity. Please note, we reserve the right to decline booking requests that do not fit our booking policies.
BOOK YOUR STUDIO SPACE
The recording booth features equipment to support sound capture. For editing, please book a computer. Staff are able to provide a short orientation of the recording booth.
Users can book up to 2 hours per day.
Room capacity: 2 People.
An Epson 12000XL-PH large format flatbed scanner is available for digitizing print materials, photographs, slides, negatives. The scanner has a 12.2″ x 17.2″ scanning area with up to 2400 dpi optical resolution.
Workstation capacity: 2 People.
The gaming studio includes three video game consoles: a Nintendo Switch, a PlayStation 5 and an XBox Series S. We offer a small selection of games to try.
No food or eating in the studio. Drinks with lids are permitted.
Users can book up to 2 hours per day.
Room capacity: 5 People.
Intended for the creation of video and photography projects, the space includes a backdrop, professional grade lighting, microphones, an object photography light box and a DSLR camera for still photography and video.
First-time users must complete an orientation before booking.
Do not remove equipment from the room.
Allot extra time for studio set-up/take-down, staff can assist with backdrop changes.
Users can book up to 4 hours per day.
Room capacity: 4 People.
Our VR studio is equipped with a HTC Vive Pro set, a workstation, base station, and additional screen.
First-time users must receive a brief orientation from staff before using the studio.
No food or drink in the studio.
