ALL USERS MUST BE CERTIFIED

All users must be certified to use each piece of equipment in the DSC Makerspace; this means completing all educational models and demonstration sessions as per the requirements of the tool.

The DSC will NOT approve any studio or tool bookings if the user has not fully completed their certification process; no exceptions will be made.

  • You may only book for yourself; you are not permitted to book on behalf of others.
  • Users who do not arrive within 30 minutes of their booking start time are subject to booking cancellation to accommodate other users.

    What is Mediated vs Unmediated 3D Printing?

    A mediated 3D printing service requires you to create and then submit your 3D model to a service provider. They will load your file to their printers and complete the printing process for you.

    An unmediated 3D printing service requires you to obtain working knowledge of a makerspace's 3D printers so you may successfully operate and complete the printing process of your 3D model yourself; this can include the completion of online or in-person instructional modules, quizzes, and/or practical demonstrations related to proficient printer use.
