Welcome to the Library Indigenous Student Engagement Group (LISEG)

Membership is open to current undergraduate and graduate students at the U of A who self-identify as First Nations, Metis or Inuit. Members will be selected through an application process. The committee will likely meet approximately once a month during the academic year. Refreshments will be provided.

What will LISEG members do? Collaborate with the Library on initiatives such as Indigenous speakers and events, including active planning and promotion. The group serves as a means for Indigenous students to provide the Library with feedback and input on specific issues regarding Library services, policies and programs including reconciliation, decolonization and Indigenization in a social atmosphere.

LISEG members will have opportunities to create a sense of community, connect with other Indigenous students on campus, build skills that can help enhance resumes, and enjoy snacks and laughs.

Interested in joining us? Please contact the Library's Indigenous Initiatives Co Leads, Anne Carr-Wiggin and Debbie Feisst.
