Summary: "Physical Rehabilitation for Veterinary Technicians and Nurses 2e is an introduction to veterinary rehabilitation for individuals interested in pursuing a career in this rewarding field. It is a handbook for those already working as part of a rehabilitation team. In the last five years, many research articles have been published that provide more insight and information into the effects of veterinary specific rehabilitation modalities. The new edition will still have chapters authored by veterinarian and technician partners. Information will be updated, and this will be reflected in changes in treatment protocols that reflect the current science. There has been more research into modalities, just a few examples include a study examining the effects of a specific laser therapy protocol on dogs with elbow arthritis. A new handbook has been written with protocols for shockwave. The effects of underwater treadmill exercises on elbow stiffness and arthritis are now known. Pearls of wisdom from experienced rehabilitation technicians in private practice will revisited and refreshed. The current edition of the book is on examination and recommended reading lists for rehabilitation courses, including that of the veterinary technician specialty (VTS) governed by NAVTA. The revised edition will have a target audience in those examination candidates as well as technicians who already have a lot of experience in rehabilitation, those techs are more experienced than when they read the first edition and the authors will include information for them"--
